It was finally warm enough to take them out one day and explore the back yard. They loved it! They loved it so much that they slept great that night and I didn't hear a peep from them all night. It was hard putting them back into their little box. They are really getting big now.
We took them out on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday it seemed like it was warm enough, but I think they got cold because they squawked for a few hours really loud after we brought them back in. Usually they don't peep that loud, but when they get cold they sure do put up a good fuss. It took us a while to figure out what was making them so loud. I tried changing and cleaning their box, their food, turning on the light, turning off the light, and nothing worked. Finally we put the space heater on, and they all cuddled up in a corner close to the heat and went to sleep.
Some other noteworthy things:
~Cookie has figured out how to get out of the box, and we now have to make sure there is something covering the top.
~It's harder to tell Lemonade and Flapper apart now because they are the same size, but we think we discovered that Lemonade might be a little darker Golden color.
~They are changing, and growing fast!
~In a way, trying to figure out their little peeps is a lot like trying to figure out a baby's cry. A little quiet peep means I'm eating, a loud constant squawk means I'm cold, a sudden short peep means "I was just attacked", and so on. I was thinking about that tonight as we were trying to figure out what was wrong with them after we brought them in. Thought that was funny.
~Alexander isn't quite fast enough to catch the chicks outside, but he sure does have fun trying.

I can not believe how much they have grown since we saw them!
