Our yard changes

Our yard needs help, and I think we might just get our yard in shape this year.  Maybe.  Here are the changes we've made so far.  I have lots of plans and dreams.  We'll see how far we get.  This year we've planted a cherry tree (yeah, ignore all the weeds in the background that need to be pulled :-)...
And, we're finally putting bark down...
...in the little strip of yard between the street and the sidewalk.  Digging that is not easy.

We've also:

• started a compost pile
• planted potatoes in the garden
• cut down an old butterfly bush that was monstrous and ugly
• started building a chicken coop
• taught April how to mow

We have yet to:

• weed the rest of the garden
• weed the small hill in my front yard
• weed everywhere else

  Did I mention that we have a lot of weeds???
