April turns 10!

April's pink cowgirl party

This is a post that is long over due.  I don't know why I avoided posting pictures of April's birthday party so long, but I did.  It was a good party with only a few hitches.  The first hitch was the park we scheduled it at.  Since it was a cowgirl themed party we were going to have it at the park with a carousel ride and that was going to be the big exciting thing.  Well, silly me, I didn't check to make sure there weren't any big events happening at the park on the day of April's party, and sure enough there was!  They were having some big family celebration.  Thankfully my hubby checked.  I checked the carousel website, but not the main park website.  Well, the night before I had to contact everybody to change the location to a different park.  There wasn't much to do at this park but play so that was kind of a bummer.  I didn't really have any games planned.  We had a yummy lunch of nachos though!

We set the table up with all the cute little horse things.  She had her horse collection on the table.  We decided at the last minute to grab some pink roses for a center piece.  And, that was fun to let each girl take home a rose too.

She was very excited about her autograph pony.  We also had pink handkerchief's to give to each girl to wear.

We decided to order a cake from Safeway, and she picked out the cupcakes.  We added the horses on top.  It turned out really cute.
Here was her present table.
And, Miss Cowgirl joined us too.
These plates were just sooo cute.  The whole party was cute.  I really wish more of her friends could have come, but there were a lot of good friends that couldn't come.  That was the other hitch.  Summer time is a hard time for a lot of people though.  Everyone is gone doing something fun!
Remember that balloon banner?  Well, here it is.  It turned out pretty good.  It really added to the excitement and pinkness of the whole thing.
Another close up of the table.  I really liked how the table turned out.  This was really a low key party too (except for the food transporting, thanks to my hubby it went very smoothly too).  I decided long ago that birthday parties need to be simple.

April opening presents.  She got some nice things.  See that horse bag?  One of her friends really knew what she loves.

A pose with the famous cowgirl...
The whole cowgirl gang.  She really has a lot of great friends, and we are so glad they could come out for April's special day.  We missed a lot of others though.
After all was said and done we took the balloon banner down and the girls decided they just wanted to run with it.  Such freedom!
Pretty soon everyone was trying to run with it...
I wonder if they felt like they could just float away if they kept running?

Poor balloon banner.  It met it's fateful end after it's great freedom run...Aaron.  Oh well, we didn't really want to transport it home anyway.
