We
had a great new year's celebration. We started our evening out by making some wishing stars. I even let them use glitter! IT was a very sparkly and fun night!
Alex was my biggest helper. He wanted to make star after star...
See all the stars. I cut them all out and tied some ribbon to them after they dried. Inspiration for these stars came from No time for flashcards, new year's eve wishing tree. I love how these stars turned out...
I'm so glad that I'm learning to love messes, even glittery ones. This kid had so much fun...
Our tree was still up, and undecorated, so I finally did what I've wanted to do for a few years. I decorated it with all our new years fun.
I put the wishing stars up, and close to midnight I had everyone take a star down to write down a wish for someone else in our family for the new year.
The stars up close...
We played some games.
But, the best part of the whole night was our glow light dance party. I think this will be a new tradition. I saw the idea on facebook early new years evening, and thought it was a super fun idea. I just happened to have a couple tubes of glow lights waiting for something to do with them, so I grabbed them, and had them handy when it was time to start dancing. I waited until later so that the little boys would have something to keep them going.
Apparently we had some lassoing.
Alex wanted to drive his trucks through them too.
They had fun making their lights go everywhere. I slowed down my camera to catch the movement.
Eventually we taped them on to look like a stick figure.
Aaron reminded us more of an egyptian, or something.
I'm excited for what this new year will bring!
Happy 2015!
Desiree
