In mid-July we left for camping the day of Aric's birthday to Silver Falls. It was a nice, but pretty wet camping trip. The highlights were Aric's party, and camping with the cousins. In fact, I don't really have too many pictures of anything else.
I took the bumbo with us this time because I really needed a place to put Alexander in the trailer. Turns out it worked perfect to have him at the dining table with it. He could sit and happily play while I fixed meals or needed free hands.
Alexander wondering where his cinnamon rolls were.
Everybody enjoying cinnamon rolls for breakfst one day. It was too wet to eat outside.
Since we were there on Aric's birthday we had a fun little party for him. It was a cars theme, and I was planning on having all this stuff for a friend party at home but just decided that his camping party would be enough for him this year.
Getting the table all ready. He was so excited. He has been asking if it was his birthday yet since Aaron's party in May, so he was ready for this party. Don't you love his party hat? (he just happened to be wearing his cars helmet during his cars party, so we just left it on :-)
He picked the balloon cake. No cars themed cakes at Costco.
Grandma and the cousins coming over from their trailer in the background right there to join the party.
He was getting ready to blow out the candle!
This is the face he had after opening each present. It was a super happy, silly laugh and funny face.
It was kind of fun to have some new toys to open up and play with while camping. He got a lot of fun things.
This play-doh set was great on the last morning when it was pouring rain. The kids had fun inside the trailer playing it while it was pouring before we decided to just ditch camp and go to the air museum.
One of the coolest toys he got was this Hot Wheels 4 lane raceway. A lot like a mini pinewood derby. So, we had a little pine wood derby with the hot wheels that each kid picked for a goody.
I have been very impressed with this toy, and the kids seemed to really have a good time. Aric loves it, and asks to take it out almost daily.
This is one gift that we let Aric open before we left for camping (so it wouldn't get broken)...his race car piggy bank. April picked this out for him. He loved it. He has been wanting a piggy bank for a long time.
He immediately wanted to put his change in it.
